People become motivated when you guide them to the source of their own power. #Coachjoe

When you think of a leader- who do you picture? We often think of someone standing alone inspiring a crowd.

We respect the leaders in our lives, in history books, and we often revere them. We elevate them in our imagination, but that high position is not why we hold them in such high regard.

We admire our leaders because they hold themselves in such a high standard and in doing so they inspired us to do the same.

We applaud the great leaders and admonish and scorn the poor ones. We read about their trials and triumphs. Encouraged by the will to overcome pain and adversity.

Leaders pave a path so others may have a less strenuous journey. Leaders propagate the necessity of sacrifice, failure and loss as each person must choose their own path.

Learn from within: you do what’s right not what is easy. You empower others to stand in their truth. Speak to their power. The most common misconception is in giving away our power to believe.

We all have the innate ability to lead. Leaders aren’t born, they are made. Like everything else is created through our virtues, values, principles, and our character.

It begins with a realization of our capabilities. It gives us courage to embrace our strengths and our shadows.

Leadership is not an abstract or obscure godlike skill available to a select few. It is within us. Perhaps dormant, untapped, and unnerved but it is within.
