High performance mastermind group training. Multiplying leadership. #coachjoe

Our mastermind group training this week was centered on the 6 key elements of leadership multiplication.

If this adds value to you and your team go ahead and share it, teach it, and let’s multiply our leadership.

The things we learned this week: #coachjoe

We are drawn to behaviors that earn us respect, approval, admiration, and status.

We’re in constant pursuit of ways to stand out. Most days, we’d rather be wrong with the crowd than be right by ourselves.

🧠Neuroscientist Antonio Damasio explains, “it is emotion that allows you to mark things as good, bad, or indifferent.”

📚❎To begin and fail is far more reinforcing to achievement, then it would be to plan, prepare, and procrastinate.

🔐 The key to mastering a new skill is to start with repetition, and not perfection.

🤯You must get your reps in.

👉🏻 Neuroscientists call this long-term potentiation, which refers to the strengthening of connections between neurons in the brain based on patterns of activity.

🔂 Each repetition improves and tightens the neural connections.

🔂 Frequency is the key to habit transformation. Not necessarily time specific. It is the frequency that makes the difference. Therefore, to build a habit you need to practice it.

Does your training plan align with your core values? #coachjoe

Hey Coach Joe and we are taking training. Manager’s find comfort in defining training as short-term investment that yields a high ROI.
In theory, training should produce higher compliance with process. But compliance is a misnomer. Compliance is a false narrative the people do as we expect them in accordance with our training.
The deception is that by “training” people there will be process adherence. Managers concept of training are regurgitated techniques of outdated processes.
By its very nature, the cyclical process produces predictable outcomes.
While there are many reasons for these shortcoming, the challenges organizations face is tied to the learning-doing gap.
The development of people requires a connection to core values.
Here’s 5 practical methods to shift the perspective from “event” learning to “journey” learning.

  1. Wire in deliberate practice.
  2. Build a partnership between the team, the leadership, and the learning.
  3. Define the mission and the definition of successful training.
  4. Observe and Coach to reinforce the learned behaviors.
  5. Catch high-performing habits in-process and verbally celebrate them! Verbally reinforcing behavior encourages learning.
Embrace the grind. Enjoy the journey. Keep listening.

It is okay to topple over on the path. #coachjoe

Battered, kneels scraped, bloody hands, and an incessant desire to get back up. It is okay to bruise your ego as you learn to climb again.

The challenge, however, is getting back up and continuing the climb. Getting back on the journey is paramount.

Pause only to reflect how far you’ve climbed. Not on the faults beyond the last hilltop.

Today, you begin anew. You are more prepared ready for the next challenge. Lean into the fear and keep on climbing.

Have a great week ahead!

“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better. “-Samuel Beckett. #coachjoe

We aren’t immune to disappointment, nor are we dissolutioned by our successes.

The path to happiness runs through the woods of failure. Remember, as your chopping the small trees down to continue to keep grinding away at the big tree of aspiration.

As you make the journey stop and graze the land of gratitude.

The rapids of adversity will test your resolve and challenge your passion. You will need a guide to navigate the rushing river of persistence.

There is no direct path and you will need to traverse the peaks and valleys. Sometimes it will be lonely and sometimes it will be filled with joy.

The trek is not for the weary nor is it for the uncommitted, unmotivated, and uninspired.

You need not be alone during this hike although, you will feel that way at times. You have the innate ability to foster the energy needed. You have the choice to take massive action. You have a decision to remove your distractions.

You have a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.

If you need a champion to keep you engaged I’m here to cheer you on.👊🏼 Make no mistake, I’ll challenge your perspective and push you beyond your comfort levels.

Go out today and crush it🔥🔥#yougotthis

Complexity is the enemy of mastery. #coachjoe

Have you ever read that post where it made you re-think your position on a topic?

For me, it is the simplicity of action. We get stalled in overthinking the “how” and mapping out the steps needed to arrive at a predetermined destination.

👉🏻Our desire to be recognized as a subject matter expert merely stunts the action.
👉🏻Our minds are cognitive misers deploying mental safety nets to keep us out of harms way.

The power of action makes us more familiar with failure and the freedom to explore our comfort zones.

After years of procrastination, I decided to start Balance Cubed podcast (for those of you who didn’t know). 😃🎧🎙

We learned:

🔜 take action.
➡️ how to prepare for a podcast.
➡️where to start and what software
➡️how to record, edit, and add background theme music.
➡️research my topics. Opening me up to new books and articles of significance.
➡️ how to not be a perfectionist. This one is hArd!
➡️ how to receive critiscim.

Not everything we do is going to be received well. We are barely a 📈blip on the podcast market 🤣😂.

This is all a function of the confidence—competency loop 🔂
Today, just take a single action towards that thing that’s been so elusive. As you fail forward the path reveals itself.

Have a great close to the week!
